Hilliard: Man, woman arrested after being found with stolen items

Hilliard police officers arrested a man and a woman April 7 at Knights Inn, 3950 Parkway Lane, after they were found with stolen credit cards, a gun and other stolen items.

According to Municipal Court records, Tiffany Lester, 27, of South Sixth Street, was charged with receiving stolen property, a fifth-degree felony. She was arraigned April 10 and posted bond, according to court records. She is scheduled for a preliminary hearing April 18 in Franklin County Municipal Court.

Brian Matthews, 35, of East Markison Avenue, was booked on a forgery charge from another agency.

Several additional charges are expected against both suspects, police said.

An officer patrolling the parking lot of the hotel April 7 checked a vehicle license plate and learned it had been stolen.

Officers linked Matthews to the vehicle and learned a felony warrant for forgery had been issued for his arrest, police said.

Police found Lester in the same hotel room as Matthews.

Inside the room, police found a gun, stolen credit cards and other stolen items. One credit card was connected to a theft in the parking lot of a Dublin day care center, police said.
