Hilliard: Residents report string of thefts and damages

Hilliard police took several burglary, robbery and property-damage reports in the past few weeks.

* A robbery was reported at Knights Inn, 3950 Parkway Lane, at 8 p.m. May 13.

Two men told police an unknown person took a laptop, money and a gaming system, all worth $1,752.

* A resident in the 4800 block of Rays Circle told police at 11:30 a.m. May 13 that jewelry worth $48,349 was stolen.

A window screen also was reported missing, according to police.

* Fishing tackle, including custom-made rods and reels, all worth $11,300, were reported stolen at 8:30 p.m. May 20 from a residence in the 4700 block of Scioto Darby Road.

A door frame was broken and telephone lines were cut during the breaking and entering, police said.

* Tools, an air compressor, a hammer drill, a KTM dirt bike, a Suzuki ATV and other items, all worth $4,700, were reported stolen at 7:30 a.m. May 8 from a garage in the 5300 block of Pinehurst Drive.

Someone entered an open garage, according to police.

* A screen door at a residence in the 4800 block of Lady Jane Avenue was reported damaged at 7:30 a.m. May 16.

* Police reported a vehicle was vandalized at 4:40 p.m. May 10 in the 5000 block of Britton Parkway. Damage was reported at $500.

* A fence was reported vandalized at 6 p.m. May 19 at a preschool in the 4700 block of Avery Road.

* A vehicle was reported vandalized at 7 a.m. May 17 at Bradley High School, 2800 Walker Road.

* Two school buildings were reported spray-painted last week.

Avery Elementary School, 4388 Avery Road, was reported painted at 11 p.m. May 23 and spray paint was reported at 2:25 a.m. May 23 at Bradley High School.

* Vandalism was reported at 7 a.m. May 12 at Avery Elementary School, 4388 Avery Road. Benches and swings were damaged.

In other recent incident reports from the Hilliard Division of Police:

* Police arrested a 16-year-old boy for illegal conveyance of a weapon at noon May 19 at Bradley High School. No other information was immediately available.

* A man told police an unknown man struck him at 1:20 p.m. May 10 at a store in the 4600 block of Cemetery Road.

* Two juveniles were reportedly assaulted at 8 p.m. May 12 in the 5100 block of Hamilton Road.

* A male victim told police a person he knows assaulted him at 1:45 p.m. May 14 at Bradley High School.

* Police reported vehicles were stolen May 15 in the 3900 block of Bronson Court and May 12 in the 3300 block of Darby Glen Boulevard. Both vehicles were recovered.

* Police reported two boys started a fire at 6:50 p.m. May 15 inside a garage at a residence in the 4400 block of Darley Court. No one was injured. The fire caused $4,000 in damage, police said.

* Police arrested a 19-year-old man for possession of marijuana and underage possession of alcohol at 12:15 a.m. May 17 at Northwest Parkway and Leap Road.

* Police arrested a 20-year-old man for possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia at 11:20 p.m. May 21 at Cemetery Road and Lyman Drive.

* A 30-year-old man was arrested for possession of marijuana at 12:15 a.m. May 20 at Strider Lane and Alton Darby Creek Road.

* Police arrested a 35-year-old man for possession of marijuana at 9 a.m. May 18 at Davidson Road and Lyman Drive.

* Police arrested a 31-year-old man for drug abuse at 7:55 p.m. May 17 in the 4100 block of Trueman Boulevard.

* A 23-year-old man was arrested for possession of marijuana at 3:50 p.m. May 15 in the 4200 block of Cemetery Road.

* Police arrested a 47-year-old man for disorderly conduct and another man for possession of marijuana at 12:10 a.m. May 13 in the 4000 block of Main Street. Police responded to a report of a fight.

* A 25-year-old man was arrested for possession of drugs at 3:40 p.m. May 10 in the 4600 block of Cemetery Road.

* Police arrested a 30-year-old woman for possession of drugs and marijuana at 10:30 a.m. May 10 at Scioto Darby Road and Veterans Memorial Drive. She was released to Grove City police, according to the report.

* A 21-year-old man was arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia at 10:10 p.m. May 10 at Cemetery Road and Brown Park Drive.

* Police arrested a 46-year-old woman for possession of drug-abuse instruments and obstructing official business at 11:10 a.m. May 9 at Cemetery Road and Lyman Drive.

* Police arrested a 15-year-old for possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia at 1:45 p.m. May 7 at Davidson High School, 5100 Davidson Road.
