Pooches, Chows and BowWows

Bring your favorite furry friend to enjoy live music by Hangtime and food-truck fare by My Place or Yours, Kona Ice and the Sweet Mobile Cupcakery from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 19 at Heritage Trail Dog Park, 7262 Hayden Run Road.

Pick up a free paw print from Elements Art Studio. Also visit Paws of Love Treats and Brown Bag Bandanas.

Fourth of July

The day starts at 10 a.m. with the Fourth of July parade, departing from the Franklin County Fairgrounds. The parade proceeds to Main Street to Norwich, west on Cemetery Road to the roundabout to Scioto Darby Road and ends at Memorial Middle School.

Those interested in a parade entry should submit a registration form to Parade Organizer, 5274 Norwich St., Hilliard, Ohio 43026 by July 1, or contact Christy Clark at Destination Hilliard, 614-664-3290.

The theme of this year's parade is Stars and Stripes Forever.

Parade awards are announced at 6 p.m. in the gym at the community center in Roger A. Reynolds Municipal Park.

Live entertainment by McGuffey Lane, an American country-rock tribute band, begins playing at 6 p.m. on the amphitheater stage in Reynolds Municipal Park.

Fireworks start at 9:45 p.m.

Rides, games and food begin at 5 p.m. July 3. Purchase a wristband or individual tickets.

On July 4, the Hilliard Family Aquatic Center is open until 9 p.m. Hilliard East Pool will be open until 7 p.m.


Zumba combines high-energy, motivating music with easy to follow moves. The instructor is Doreen Woodard. Sessions are:

* 9:15 to 10 a.m. Mondays and Wednesdays.

* 5 to 5:45 p.m. Sundays.

* 6 to 6:45 p.m. Thursdays.

There is a $3 drop-in fee. Free if it is your first class.
