Hilliard: Number of thefts result in significant losses

Hilliard police reported several recent thefts, each with losses of thousands of dollars, as June came to a close.

Construction material worth $1,466 was reported stolen at 8 p.m. June 19 from a business in the 4300 block of All Seasons Drive.

Jewelry worth $15,200 was stolen at noon June 22 from a residence in the 4800 block of Rays Circle.

Tools and laptop computers were reported stolen at 6:30 p.m. June 24 from two commercial vehicles at a business in the 3800 block of Park Mill Run Drive. Door locks were punched to gain entry, police said. The loss was reported at $37,960.

A plate compactor, worth $5,000, was reported stolen at noon June 24 from a construction site in the 3900 block of Riverview Drive.

In other recent incident reports from the Hilliard Division of Police:

• Thefts were reported from three vehicles at 12:30 p.m. June 24 in the 3900 block of Lyman Drive.

Windows were broken in all three vehicles. Golf clubs, a passport, a laptop computer and a GPS unit were among the items stolen. Some of the clubs were recovered, according to the report.

• Police reported an arson at 11:25 a.m. June 24 in the 5200 block of Crescent Drive involving an unknown person who set a lawn mower on fire. Damage was reported at $150.

• A chain saw, circular saw and weed trimmer were reported stolen at 6:30 a.m. June 23 from a shed in the 4300 block of Shire Landing Road.

• Police reported a known person forced entry into a residence at 2:40 a.m. June 28 in the 3400 block of Ridgewood Drive.

• A 27-year-old man was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia at 5:25 p.m. June 28 in the 4100 block of Trueman Boulevard.

• Police arrested a 17-year-old boy for drug abuse and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia at 11:55 p.m. June 27 at Cemetery Road and Trueman Boulevard.

• A 24-year-old man was arrested for possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia at 11:10 a.m. June 27 at Trailane Drive and Woodsview Way.

• Police arrested an 18-year-old man for possession of drug paraphernalia at 11:45 p.m. June 25 at Avery Road and Davidson Road.

• A 17-year-old boy was arrested for possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia at 11 p.m. June 25 in the 3500 block of East Main Street.
