The Hilliard/Ray Patch YMCA, 4515 Cosgray Road, will celebrate its 10th anniversary Sunday, Aug. 3, with an open house and a "birthday party" open to the public.
The events are designed to thank members for a decade of support as well as showcase the facility for residents unfamiliar with the YMCA, said Andy Warnock, a member of the facility's board of directors.
"The board wanted to provide an opportunity for non-Y members to see what we're all about. We're more than a gym and a swim place," Warnock said.
The open house is set from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 3, showcasing offerings at the 47,000-square-foot Hilliard branch, which opened in 2004. The facility has an indoor and outdoor pool, gymnasium, yoga studios and classroom space for community events.
The YMCA also provides swim lessons and literacy classes for children and adolescents.
The Hilliard YMCA has about 11,000 members.
"During the open house, the Y will be open for the public to see our amenities and our facility firsthand," Warnock said.
After the five-hour open house, the YMCA will host a 10th anniversary celebration from 4 to 7 p.m.
The celebration will include refreshments and a variety of product promotions and giveaways from sponsors including Jet's Pizza, Cake Creations, KeyBank and Movement Church.
The event includes access to the pool, music and other entertainment.
Admission to the party is free but reservations are recommended to allow organizers to estimate attendance, Warnock said.
