Dedication of reflection garden included in Sept. 11 ceremonies

In advance of the annual ceremony honoring first responders and victims of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, Hilliard officials will dedicate a reflection garden at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, in front of the Norwich Township and Hilliard Safety Services Building, 5181 Northwest Parkway.

Norwich Township recently completed the water fountain and placement of engraved bricks in front of the Safety Services building near a flagpole salvaged from the ruins of the World Trade Center.

Following the dedication ceremony, members of the Hilliard Division of Police and Norwich Township Fire Department will march to First Responders Park at Main and Center streets in Old Hilliard.

Residents who attend are invited to march along with them.

Once there, they will honor America's police officers and firefighters and the approximately 3,000 civilians and first responders killed during the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks in New York City, Washington, D.C., and western Pennsylvania.
