Cheerleading — 2:30-5 p.m. Aug. 9-11

Cross country — 9-10:30 a.m. Aug. 16

Football — A parent meeting is 6 p.m. Monday in the Heritage cafeteria. Practice starts at 7:45 a.m. and runs to 11 a.m. Monday

Golf — 8:30 a.m. Aug. 9 at Raymond Memorial, 9:30 a.m. Aug. 10 at Raymond Memorial and 10 a.m. Aug. 12 at Wilson Road

Gymnastics — An informational meeting is at 6 p.m. Aug. 6 at Fliptastic Gymnastics

Boys soccer — Practice starts 6-8 p.m. Aug. 9

Girls soccer — Practice starts 8:30-10:30 a.m. Aug. 16

Practice and/or tryouts will begin for most sports on Aug. 9 at Weaver Middle School unless stated otherwise at times listed below.

All participants are required to pay a $55 participation fee, which will be collected at the Fall Sports Orientation program on Aug. 18, at 7 p.m. All sports participants must have a physical form on file before competition begins.

Cheerleading — Seventh- and eighth-grade football cheerleading squads will run 9-11 a.m. Wednesday through Aug. 6 at Weaver.

Gymnastics — Informational meeting for parents and gymnasts will be on 6:30 p.m. Aug. 6. Meeting will be held at Fliptastic! Gymnastics, 2330 International St., Columbus, OH 43228.

Football — 8-10:30 a.m. All players must participate in a four-day acclamation period before equipment is issued and have a physical form on file before contact practice may begin.

Girls Soccer — 9-11 a.m.

Boys Soccer — 6-8 p.m.

Cross Country (boys and girls) — 8-10 a.m.

Girls volleyball — 9-11 a.m. (main gym)

Girls tennis — 10 a.m.-noon (tennis courts)

Golf — Tryouts for seventh- and eighth-grade teams will be 8 a.m. Aug. 11 11th at Thornapple and 8 p.m. Aug. 12 at National Road.

Those trying out must arrive a half-hour early. Golfers will play nine holes each day and are responsible for paying greens fees.

The Hilliard Davidson girls golf team will have two 18-hole tryout sessions in the first week of August for the 2010 season.

Dates of the tryouts are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Raymond Memorial Golf Course and 7:30 a.m. Wednesday at Foxfire. Golfers will need to bring their own clubs and will need to pay the greens fee for each round.

A new club hockey team is being formed for players from Columbus schools, private and parochial schools within Columbus, or those residing in Columbus.

Northwest Hockey Club was granted this area by the Greater Columbus High School Club Hockey League.

The program is for high school, middle school or elementary school students.

Tryouts for junior varsity and varsity programs will be held at the end of the summer for the 2010-2011 season.

The ninth annual Circleville Dog Days 5K road race is at 9 a.m. Aug. 7 beginning and ending at Circleville High School. There are awards to the top three in each event for all 28 age groups. Water and splits are available on the course and at the finish line.
