The Hilliard Bradley High School girls basketball team won four of its previous five games before playing Westerville Central on Jan. 29.
A 43-31 win over league-foe Westerville South on Jan. 25 followed by a 40-33 non-league win over Watterson on Jan. 26 pushed the Jaguars' record to 9-8 overall. They were 6-4 in the OCC-Cardinal Division before facing Central.
Post player Amanda Fodor scored 12 points against South. Guard Feaira Crews and forward Meredith Miller both added 10 points, as the Jaguars turned the tables on the Wildcats after losing the first matchup 33-23 on Dec. 14.
Bradley outscored Watterson 25-12 in the second half after trailing 21-15 at halftime. Miller led the way with 13 points.
The Jaguars will seek to continue their momentum Friday, Feb. 1, at Worthington Kilbourne. Bradley won the first matchup 61-27 on Dec. 21.
After playing at Jonathan Alder on Saturday, Feb. 2, the Jaguars will play host to Westerville North on Tuesday, Feb. 5. Bradley lost to the league-leading Warriors 50-33 on Jan. 4.
Boys squad drops two games
The boys team battled Watkins Memorial before losing the non-league game 55-51 on Jan. 22.
The Jaguars then lost to Westerville South 73-35 on Jan. 25 to fall to 1-15 overall and 0-9 in the OCC-Cardinal before playing Westerville Central on Jan. 29.
Against Watkins Memorial, point guard Brandon Glenn scored 13 points and post player Ryan Reffitt scored 12. Guard Nick Ingstrum and forward Jackson Murphy both added 11.
Against South, Murphy scored nine points. Forward Brady Simpson and Reffitt both added eight.
Bradley plays host to Kilbourne on Friday, Feb. 1, and plays at Westerville North on Tuesday, Feb. 5. The Jaguars lost to Kilbourne 72-33 on Dec. 21 and fell to North 84-40 on Jan. 4.
Murphy led the Jaguars against South with nine points as Simpson and Reffitt each had eight.
