The Hilliard Davidson High School boys bowling team ended its season in the district tournament Feb. 22 at HP Lanes.
The Wildcats finished fifth (3,781) of 18 teams, behind state-qualifiers Newark (3,935), Whitehall (3,902) and Westerville Central (3,895) and fourth-place Jonathan Alder (3,872).
The top three teams and top three individuals not on a qualifying team advanced to the state tournament Saturday, March 2, at Wayne Webb's Columbus Bowl.
Senior Ryan Bremer led the Wildcats, placing sixth of 117 competitors with a 627 series. Newark's Austin Martin (728) won the district title and Granville's Jon Massey (657) secured the final state-qualifying berth.
Also competing for Davidson were junior Zack Starner (530, tied for 39th), senior Michael Gronski (526, 43rd), junior Robbie Gilliland (436), senior Justin Campbell (398) and senior Jon Martin (120).
Darby boys finish 13th at district
The Darby boys team finished 13th (3,586) at district.
Senior Andrew Clute led the Panthers, finishing 19th (580). Also competing were senior Aaron Wurdack (547, 30th), senior Eric Bennett (537, tied for 34th), freshman Justin Clute (336), junior Brant Hulteen (335) and junior Jayde Leach (134).
Bradley's Gliva competes at district
Senior Britney Gliva represented the Bradley girls team at district Feb. 23 at HP Lanes, tying for 37th (457).
Westerville Central's Savannah Slark (625) won the district championship and North Union's Stormie Jamison (529) secured the third and final qualifying berth for the state tournament Friday, March 1, at Wayne Webb's Columbus Bowl.
