Davidson boys team wins Dublin Classic

The Hilliard Davidson High School boys track and field team scored 133.5 points to win the 13-team Dublin Classic on April 20 at Coffman ahead of runner-up Brunswick (99).

Phillipie Motley won the 100 meters (11.07 seconds) and 200 (22.57). He also teamed with Damarcus Nelson, Cody Shutt and Kit Hodges to win the 400 relay (43.84) and combined with Nelson, Dametrius Clark and Josh Bernard to win the 1,600 relay (3:29.66).

Placing second were Tyler Anthony in the discus (145 feet, 8 inches) and Garrett Knapik, Robert Lefevre, Lou Takahashi and Andrew Stroh in the 3,200 relay (8:35.63).

Bradley finished sixth (44). Skylar Hartley was third in the shot put (46-8), and finishing fourth were Kyle Stebner in the 110 hurdles (16.59), Nick Christensen in the 1,600 (4:33.2), Daniel Tepe in the 300 hurdles (43.22), Matt Johnson in the 200 (23.34) and Demias Heard, Tommy Horn, Johnson and Tepe in the 1,600 relay (3:32.26).

Davidson girls 2nd, Bradley 7th in Classic

The Davidson girls team finished second (91.5) in the 14-team Dublin Classic behind Brunswick (104.5) as Lauren Hoover won the 1,600 (5:12.82) and 800 (2:24.82).

Finishing second were Jane Onders in the 3,200 (11:49.41) and Iman Batiste, Lizzy Litzinger, Ashley Blake and Hoover in the 1,600 relay (4:12.15).

Bradley finished seventh (41) as Sara Reitz won the long jump (15-8 1/2) and Tes Corea finished second in the 800 (2:27.39). Finishing fourth were Kayla Malik in the high jump (5-0), Alex Winter in the 3,200 (12:07.46) and Sarah Taylor, Malik, Hope Sawchuk and Sydney Rings in the 400 relay (52.5).

Darby gets weekend off

The Darby boys and girls teams were scheduled to compete April 19 in the Warrior Relays at Lebanon, but the meet was pushed back to April 22 and the Panthers decided not to make the trip.
