Martin continues to spark Panthers


Senior C.J. Martin continues to lead the way for the Hilliard Darby High School boys tennis team, posting a 10-2 record at first singles through 12 matches.

The Panthers were 7-5 overall before playing Westland on May 6. They went 3-3 in the OCC-Cardinal Division to place fourth, behind Westerville South (6-0), Dublin Scioto (5-1) and Dublin Jerome (4-2), and will compete in the fourth-place OCC tournament Saturday, May 10, at a site to be announced.

Darby defeated Delaware 3-2 on April 29, getting wins from Martin, Siddartha Revur at second singles and David Kim at third singles.

The Panthers closed league play with a 3-2 win over Bradley on April 24, as Revur and Kim won in singles and John Gehrt and Yash Somani won at second doubles.

Wildcats finish 3rd in OCC-Central

Davidson was 8-4 overall before playing Pickerington North on May 6.

The Wildcats finished 5-2 in the OCC-Central to place third, behind Upper Arlington (7-0) and Dublin Coffman (6-1). They will compete Saturday, May 10, in the third-place OCC tournament at a site to be announced.

Davidson defeated Central Crossing 4-1 in its league finale May 1, getting wins from Chris Codogni at first singles, Thomas Porter at second singles, Hunter Walter at third singles and Collin McCabe and Kevin Qian at first doubles.

Jaguars' Thai stays unbeaten in singles

Bradley is 1-11 overall and finished sixth in the OCC-Cardinal at 1-5.

The Jaguars posted their lone win against Westerville North, beating the Warriors 3-2 in a league match April 28 behind wins by Mitchell Thai at first singles, Doug Knecht at second singles and Jimmy Gaydos at third singles.

Thai, a freshman, is 12-0 at first singles.

The Jaguars will compete in the sixth-place OCC tournament Saturday, May 10.
