Northridge High School students will bring the Tony Award-winning Broadway show "Thoroughly Modern Millie" to the stage this weekend, as they present their 2008 spring musical.

Under the direction of Jacinda Wetzel and choreographer Inalee Tan, the show will start at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 2, and Saturday, May 3, and at 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 4, at the high school.

The musical comedy set in the roaring '20s, opens as Millie, a small-town girl filled with big dreams, arrives in New York in search of a new life.

Filled with frisky flappers, dashing leading men and a dragon lady of a villainess, the production showcases the vocal talents of more than 40 students.

Included in the cast are Gabby Tan as Millie Dillmount; Adam Davis as Jimmy Smith, an attractive young paperclip salesman; Melissa Smith as Miss Dorothy Brown, a new actress in town and Millie's best friend; Megan Howard as Muzzy van Hossmere, a wealthy and well-traveled nightclub singer; Leann Berg as Mrs. Meers, the malevolent owner of the Hotel Priscilla; John Cox and Tony Dellapina as Mrs. Meers' Chinese henchman, Bun Foo and Ching Ho; Blake Jackson as Trevor Graydon, the boss; and Suki Miller as Miss Flannery, the uptight office manager at Sincere Trust Ins. Co.

The first act will include Gabby Tan singing "Not for the Life of Me" and Melissa Smith joining her in "How the Other Half Lives."

Adam Davis ends the act with "What Do I Need with Love."

The second act begins with Tan, Suki Miller and ensemble, singing "Forget about The Boy" with Megan Howard and boys ending the show singing "Long as I'm Here with You."

Tickets for the musical production are $8 for adults and $6 for students and senior citizens.
