With Alexandria Fun Days just around the corner, registration is now being accepted for the third annual Little Miss Fun Days Beauty Pageant.

The event will be held during Fun Days' opening night on Wednesday, July 16, at 7 p.m.

Local girls who are age 5 to 7 and eligible to attend or currently attending Northridge schools in grades K-2 are eligible to participate. Contestants must reach their 5th birthday by June 30, 2008, but not reach their 8th birthday by July 31, 2008.

There will be a non-refundable $5 entry fee per contestant, with all entry proceeds benefiting the Alexandria Fire Association. Entries must be received by Wednesday, July 9. No late entries will be accepted.

Judging is based on stage presence, poise, personality and appearance. Required attire for contestants is age-appropriate regular-length dresses with flat or chunk heel shoes (no semi-formal or formal wear permitted), limited jewelry and no make-up.

Licking County Commissioners Tim Bubb, Doug Smith and Mark Van Buren will judge the event. Little Miss Fun Days will receive a commemorative trophy, pageant sash, tiara, scepter and bouquet.

Because each pageant contestant is viewed as a "winner," everyone takes home a pageant medallion, single-stem carnation and goodie bag.

Little Miss Fun Days and her Court will be featured in the Fun Days Parade on Saturday, July 19, with contest sponsors providing parade transportation.

Registration forms and pageant rules are available on the village of Alexandria Web site at www.alexandriaoh.org or by calling village administrator Crissy Willeke at (740) 924-ALEX. Pageant questions can also be directed to council member Naomi Compton at (740) 924-4855.
