A free Johnstown Youth Athletic Association Soccer Clinic will be held Saturday, Aug. 16, at Belt Park.

The clinic is open to all fall JYAA soccer registrants. It will meet from 10 a.m. to 12 noon for 4- and 5-year-olds and 6- and 7-year-olds, and from 1 to 3 p.m. for 8- and 9- and 10- and 11-year-olds.

The clinics, run by Johnstown-Monroe High School varsity soccer coach and team members, will be held on the lower soccer fields at Belt Park.

Participants should wear practice attire and bring a water bottle and soccer ball with their last name on them. Some extra soccer balls will be available.

Johnstown soccer T-shirts can be ordered at the clinic for $5.

The Kids' Team of Licking County is hosting a golf outing Saturday, Aug. 2, beginning with an 8 a.m. shotgun start at the Links at Echo Springs Golf Course, 5940 Loudon St.

The cost is $65 per person and includes green fees, cart, steak dinner, T-shirt and beverages.

Sponsorships are still available for $100. The cost to play golf and sponsor a hole is $125. Those interested should send money and team members' names to Teresa Pishner, Kids Team Coordinator, 74 S. Second St., Newark 43055. For more information, call Pishner at 740-670-8914.

Faith Fellowship will offer a free School Supplies Give-away from 4 to 6 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, Aug. 18-19.

The supplies are available for elementary school children (grades K-5) at the church offices, 24 S. Main St. in Johnstown.

The Licking County Transit Board is offering transportation to the Hartford Fair to residents in Licking County, outside the city limits of Heath and Newark, Aug. 2-9.

Public transportation services are available from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. for people living in Licking County. One-way trips are $5 if scheduled in advance. (All trips must be scheduled at least one business day in advance).

Trips provided on demand, if there is room in the schedule, are $6 one-way.

Disabled citizens and senior citizens 65 years or older receive a half-fare discount.
