Parker Park's third annual Halloween party on Oct. 17 was a "spooktacular" success with a record amount of little ghosts and goblins enjoying games and goodie bags, said Naomi Compton, park board chairperson.

Park board trustees and volunteers handed out 60 goodie bags to princesses, werewolves, pirates, superheroes, witches, zombies, and a variety of other characters.

The Parker Park board took in $173 during the evening, Compton said.

Proceeds will be used to help repair the park's storm-damaged dugout and fences.
