The members of the Northridge FFA Chapter hosted their annual FFA banquet, based on a Hawaiian theme, on April 15 in the Northridge High School auditorium.

The members of the Northridge FFA Chapter hosted their annual FFA banquet, based on a Hawaiian theme, on April 15 in the Northridge High School auditorium.

For the first time, the chapter had a potluck version of a drink and dessert bar for the guests.

The chapter invited Allen Schmitz, current State FFA president, to speak.

During the banquet, members were recognized for their accomplishments and received awards for activities and contests.

The new officer team was also inducted. The 2009-2010 officers are Cathryn Clark, president; Kayla Chalfant, vice president; Emily Freese, secretary; Kelsey Garrabrant, treasurer; Keilah Ketron, reporter; Justin White, sentinel; Victoria Edbrooke, student adviser; Abigail Nye, historian; Jacob Castle, chaplain; and Dale Hamilton, parliamentarian.

The chapter recognized members with the highest grade-point averages: senior Mathew Hankinson, junior Adrian Boudinot, sophomore Kelsey Garrabrant and freshman Kara Barclay.

Adviser Ryan Rismiller awarded Chapter FFA star awards to senior Lesley Hall, junior Cathryn Clark, sophomore Keilah Ketron, greenhand Abigail Nye and overall star Lesley Hall.

Rismiller was recognized and received a standing ovation for receiving State Agriscience Teacher of the year award.

The chapter expressed appreciation to all who helped and supported them it past year.
