Members of the Northridge FFA Chapter attended the State FFA Convention last month at the Ohio Expo Center in Columbus, where 10 of them received awards.

Members of the Northridge FFA Chapter attended the State FFA Convention last month at the Ohio Expo Center in Columbus, where 10 of them received awards.

In the proficiency awards, Cathryn Clark received fourth place overall for accounting. State Degree Award winners were Adrian Boudinot, Cathryn Clark, Mathew Hankinson, Faith McConnell and Jessie Parkinson.

Upon receiving her State Degree last year, Lesley Hall competed for the Star State Degree and was the winner for District 7.

For the State Agriscience Fair, Cathryn Clark, Erin Hall and Lesley Hall received silver ratings for their projects, Kara Barclay received third place and a gold rating with her project "Which Choke Tube?" and Abigail Nye placed first with a gold rating with her project "Whose Buff and Whose Tough?" They will compete at the National Agriscience Fair with their project.

Three officers -- Erin Hall, Keilah Katron and Cathryn Clark -- received gold ratings for their officer books.

Attending the convention from Northridge FFA were Jacob Castle, Kayla Chalfant, Clark, Victoria Edbrooke, Mike Fisher, Emily Freese, Kelsey Garrabrant, Heather Geer, Brittany Gilmore, Erin Hall, Lesley Hall, Dale Hamilton, Hankinson, Ketron, McConnell, Haley Morelock, Parkinson, Ian VanKirk, Jordan Williams and Joey Woosley.

During the convention, members attended sessions and a career show and took part in activities with other FFA members from around the state.
