William Arter, secretary of the Hartford Fair Board, has announced that the premium books for the 101st Hartford Fair have been published and are being distributed. The fair will be held Aug. 11-15. One of the new structures to greet fair patrons this year will be the recently completed judge's stand. Several additions have also been made to the nightly program, including a pony pulling contest which will be held on Aug. 11. This is the first time that this type of contest has been staged.

The much awaited school survey report was disclosed to board members of western Licking County's seven school districts Monday night. Dr. Marion Conrad and Hugh Whittington, of the Bureau of Educational Research of the Ohio State University, led a very informative discussion of their report and gave positive recommendations. A consolidation of Alexandria, Bennington-Liberty, Hartford and Johnstown was recommended as the best way to improve academic standards and meet future growth requirements.
