ThisWeek/Johnstown Independent has been named the winner of three national journalism awards in the annual Suburban Newspapers of America (SNA) editorial contest.

ThisWeek/Johnstown Independent has been named the winner of three national journalism awards in the annual Suburban Newspapers of America (SNA) editorial contest.

The contest includes entries from community newspapers from across the United States and Canada.

The Independent placed second, Class A, in best sports writing for the story, "Hull completes run through events."

It also took second place for Best Feature Photo with "Together again." An honorable mention for Best Photojournalism went to a feature on the Hartford Independent Fair titled "A Day at the Fair."

Overall, ThisWeek Community Newspapers won 19 SNA awards in a variety of categories, including photojournalism, sports coverage, news coverage and design.

ThisWeek Marysville, second place, Class B, Best Special Section, "All Ohio Bike Fest."

ThisWeek Reynoldsburg, second place, Class B, Best Local Election Coverage.
