The pantry needs green beans, baked beans, canned meat and canned fruit, she said.

"With Easter coming up, I'd like to get stocked up," Krumm said. "I also want to thank everyone for being so great to help."

As of March 22, the pantry had assisted 53 families. In February, the pantry served 62 families, Krumm said.

American Legion Post 254 will sponsor its annual Easter Egg Hunt for children ages 1-9 on Saturday, April 3, at the Johnstown Community Center, 180 W. Maple St.

Every year the post sponsors the free Easter Egg Hunt for children living in the communities of Johnstown and Northridge, including Alexandria.

There will be approximately 1,200 candy-filled eggs to be found. Four different areas will be specifically designated for four different age groups: 1-2, 3-4, 5-7, and 8-9.

Registration begins at 12:15 p.m. and the hunt will begin at 1 p.m.

Northridge FFA is holding its second annual Easter Egg Hunt at the high school, 6066 Johnstown-Utica Road, beginning at noon on Saturday, April 3.

The hunt is open to children age 12 and under.

The event is free. Special games and activities will follow.

Optional donations of canned goods can be made for the Licking County Food Pantry.

Because of spring break, the committee meetings for Johnstown's Relay for Life have been moved to the second Thursday of the month.

On Thursday, April 8, the committee meeting will begin at 6 p.m. followed by the team meeting at 7 p.m. at Miller Memorial United Methodist Church, 5241 Miller Church Road.

Currently Johnstown's Relay for Life has 26 teams registered with 145 participants raising $5,151.

Openings are available for various committees for the 2010 relay, which will be held June 25-26.

Volunteers are being sought for the 61st annual Alexandria Fun Days.

Fun Days sub-committees needing new volunteers and/or sub-chairs are: fairgrounds set-up committee, fairgrounds tear-down committee, Little Miss Fun Days Committee, advertising committee, carnival game committee, entertainment committee and parade committee.

The Mary E. Babcock Library has re-scheduled the author event featuring Jason Grunewald to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 15.

Grunewald has written the Becket Chronicles, which feature medieval times.

The Northridge Band Department is holding its annual mulch sale.

Orders are begin taken until Friday, April 23. Local residents can support the band program buy purchasing 2 cubic foot bags of mulch for $3.50 each.

The Licking County Soil and Water Conservation District is offering its annual seedling tree sale through Friday, April 6.

Cost is $15 to $22 per packet of 15 to 50 seedling trees. Pick-up date is between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. Friday, April 9, at Licking County Soil and Water Conservation District, 771 E. Main St., Suite 100, in the barn.
