James Harris of Alexandria is a member of the honors program at Ashland University.

He is the son of Jim and Barb Harris and is majoring in actuarial science.

The program provides academically talented undergraduate students with cross disciplinary experiences; participation in an intellectual community devoted to discussion and dialogue; and access to challenging projects and courses.

Alexander Croasmun of Johnstown was named to the summer 2010 dean's list at the University of Cincinnati.

Hillary Falter of Alexandria is a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority at Ashland University.

She is the daughter of Gary and Linda Falter and is majoring in social work.

The purpose of Alpha Delta Pi is to promote high levels of scholarship, service and sisterhood. Activities include fundraisers, visits to the Good Shepherd Nursing Home, participation in alcohol awareness programs, sisterhood retreats and social gatherings.

Denison University student Chelsea Back of Alexandria was chosen as a 2010 summer research scholar in a program funded by the Helen L. Yeakel Summer Research Fund.

Back is one of 147 students who spent their summer at Denison conducting in-depth research projects. The faculty-led programs include undertakings in the sciences, humanities, social sciences and the arts.

Back worked with Paul Djupe, associate professor of political science, on a project titled "Religious Intolerance in the United States: The Attack Against Atheists."
