Johnstown Cub Scout Pack 226 held its annual Pinewood Derby races March 12 in the showroom at Liberty Dodge-Chrysler-Jeep.

A crowd of scouts, family and friends watched the competition of homemade cars on the 40-foot aluminum track.

Winners were: Austin Jackson, Tiger Den Division; David Mansell, Wolf Den; Jack Veal, Bear Den; and Nick Carsey, Webelos. In a race of division winners, Nick Carsey won the overall championship.

Austin Jackson won the "Best Design" trophy.

In the open/corporate Pinewood Derby that followed, 11 adults and non-Scouts held their own event. Entrants were held to the same rules, required to design and build their cars using the same car kit, rules and regulations as the Scouts.

Katrina Carsey took first place in the race and Germaine Honda won "Best Design."

A barbecue lunch, donated by 62 BBQ in Johnstown, wound up the event.

The sponsors were Liberty Dodge-Chrysler-Jeep, 62 BBQ and Tech International.
