The Newark Rotary Club recently hosted more than 50 rising seniors from several area high schools for three days at Camp Enterprise.

The camp is an annual Rotary Club event, offering students a chance to learn about best-business practices and the free enterprise system. Campers meet with local government officials and business representatives to learn about strategic planning, developing a loan request, working with local government and effective marketing strategies.

Three outstanding participants were selected to receive the 2011 Leadership Award. They are Christopher Miller, Licking Heights High School, and Kara Barclay and Paul Hager, Northridge High School. Each winner will receive a $1,000 college scholarship.

Miller also won the 2011 essay contest and received a check for $500.
