The annual Independence Day Concert and Fireworks display will be held July 3 on the shared campus of the Ohio State University at Newark and Central Ohio Technical College. The event is free and open to all.

The evening's celebration will begin with musical entertainment. Sticks and Stones will open the festivities at 6 p.m., followed by the Heisey Wind Ensemble at 8 p.m. A fireworks display will begin at 10 p.m. After the fireworks, Sticks and Stones will return to the stage for an encore presentation.

All performances will be held at the Martha Grace Reese Amphitheater.

A number of local vendors will be serving food and beverages on the campus grounds during the event. The public is encouraged to bring lawn chairs, picnics and blankets for a fun-filled evening of music and entertainment.

Free parking is available at the campus.

The annual Independence Day Concert and Fireworks is fully funded by the Reese Family Foundation.

Bill Price, Skip Anderson, and Greg Mann, known as the Sticks and Stones, perform an easy listening style of music that includes hits from the 1960s and 1970s.

The Heisey Wind Ensemble will welcome Jeffrey Shellhammer as guest conductor for this year's Independence Day celebration. Shellhammer recently completed his second year as a member of Capital University's adjunct music faculty, serving as conductor of the Wind Symphony and instructing music education classes.

The concert will feature a variety of selections including popular works from Broadway and Hollywood.
