Heritage Hall Senior Center, beginning art class for those age 60 and older, 1:30 to 3 p.m. April 1, 8, 15 and 22 in the arts and crafts room at Heritage Hall, 1058 E. Main St., Newark. The first class looks at shapes and shadows and art materials. Other sessions will involve drawing a photo subject chosen by the student. The remaining classes involve art details and shading. Museum at Buckeye Lake, training classes for anyone interested in volunteering as a tour guide for the Historic Cranberry Bog or as a crewmember on the Queen of the Lake tour boat, at the museum, 4729 Walnut Road. The training will take place at 7 p.m. April 9 for crewmembers, April 11 for bog guides. Both classes will be offered at 4 p.m. April 21 for those who cannot make weekdays. The guides will learn about the plants and the history of the bog, then participate in scheduled tours. Queen Crew volunteers assist with docking, greet passengers and help them on and off the boat. Pataskala Relay For Life Survivor/Caregiver Dinner, 6 p.m. April 16, at the Central Ohio Technical College-Pataskala campus, 8660 E. Broad St., Reynoldsburg. The event includes dinner and dessert. AARP Foundation Senior Community Service Employment Program assists unemployed Franklin, Delaware and Licking county workers age 55 and over with securing employment. The program offers paid work experience, specialized training, upgrading of skills and job-search assistance. Age, income and residency requirements apply. Nutrition and Exercise Workshop, April 2 and 16 in the Licking Memorial Wellness Education Center at C-TEC, 150 Price Road in Newark. This program focuses on practical steps and guidance to develop a personalized weight loss plan, including recipe modification, smart grocery shopping, cooking demonstrations and beginning exercise. Licking Memorial Hospital dietitian Aundrea Parker and Licking Memorial physical therapist Kerri Marks will present. Friends and Family Infant and Child CPR Class for expectant parents and grandparents, 6 to 7 p.m. April 5 in the first-floor conference rooms at Licking Memorial Hospital, 1320 W. Main St. in Newark.
