Licking County Master Gardener Volunteers, annual spring plant sale, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 4 at the corner of Hudson Avenue and Elizabeth Street in Newark.

Licking County Genealogical Society, May meeting, 6 p.m. May 6 at the Licking County Administration Building, 20 S. Second St. Doors will be locked at 6:15 p.m. and no one will be admitted after that time. Licking County Recorder Bryan Long and his staff will present the program, "Research Land Records -- Licking County Recorder's Office Road Trip." Heath High School Class of 1993, 20-year reunion, July 26 and 27. Events include a casual gathering July 26 at Papa Boo's in Thornville, a golf outing July 27 at Raccoon International and a reunion dinner July 27 at the Newark Metropolitan Hotel. Cost for golf is $30 per person, cost for the dinner is $25 per person. Reservations are due July 12. AARP Foundation Senior Community Service Employment Program assists unemployed Franklin, Delaware and Licking county workers age 55 and over with securing employment. The program offers paid work experience, specialized training, upgrading of skills and job-search assistance. Age, income and residency requirements apply. Criterium Liszkay Engineers, free home buyers seminar, 7 p.m. May 7 and 9 for part one, May 14 and 16 for part two, in the East Main Professional Building, 5300 E. Main St., Suite 203. Participants will learn the basics of what a home inspector looks for, helping prospective buyers eliminate houses with major problems before entering into a contract. Ohio State University Extension-Licking County, Dining with Diabetes classes, noon to 2 p.m. May 16, 21 and 23 at Kendal at Granville, 2158 Columbus Road SW, Granville. Dining with Diabetes is a cooking school and nutrition education program designed for people with diabetes and their family members or caregivers. Newborn Basics, 6 to 8 p.m. April 30, in the first-floor conference rooms at Licking Memorial Hospital, 1320 W. Main St. in Newark. Topics covered include newborn care, infant growth and development, ways to interact with infants, and infant and child safety. Participants also will be introduced to available support services. Childbirth Education Class, for expectant mothers, 6 to 9 p.m. May 3 and 17 in the first-floor conference rooms at Licking Memorial Hospital, 1320 W. Main St. in Newark. The cost is $55 per couple. A childbirth educator will teach the class, focusing on ways to cope with labor, breathing exercises, postpartum care and newborn care. Advance registration is required, and class size is limited to 10 couples. An additional session is set for 6 to 9 p.m. May 14 and 21. Breastfeeding Mothers Support Group, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. May 14 in the auditorium at Licking Memorial Hospital, 1320 W. Main St., in Newark. The group will be facilitated by an international board certified lactation consultants. To register, call 740-348-4346.

Prenatal Breastfeeding Basics Class, 6 to 8 p.m. May 15 in the first-floor conference rooms at Licking Memorial Hospital, 1320 W. Main St. in Newark. Participants will learn the basics of breastfeeding, including the skills and techniques necessary for success. A certified lactation consultant will be available for one-on-one questions.
