Johnstown Community Sportsman's Club, opening ceremony for presentation of the Vietnam Memorial Traveling Wall, noon July 11, at 7357 Sportsman Club Road NW. The traveling wall will then be accessible for viewing around the clock until the final ceremony starting at 3 p.m. July 14. Club staff and other volunteers will be available to help visitors locate names of fallen servicemen and make pencil etchings of their names onto paper. Each day there will be presentations by distinguished speakers and a number of ceremonies involving regional organizations. There is parking on the Sportsman's Club property and no charge either to park for the event or to visit the Wall. For more information, go to jcscohio.org/ and find the link to the wall.

Hocking Valley Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution and the Granville Historical Society, grave marking ceremony, 2 p.m. July 20, at the Old Colony Burying Grounds in Granville. This ceremony will honor Sgt. Timothy Rose, who was called up at the age of 13 into the Massachusetts Militia on April 20, 1775, and then served in the 15th Regiment of the Massachusetts Line until 1783. In 1804, he established the Licking Company and moved from Granville, Mass. to establish Granville, Ohio.

Hopewell Federal Credit Union's Third Annual Car Show, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 20, at 1690 N. 21st St. in Newark. Registration of cars will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. for a fee of $10. Awards will be presented at 1:45 p.m. and entrants must be present to win. Awards include dash plaques, top 30 and a CEO Award. All years are eligible. Other features include music and food for purchase from Tucson Rose Southwestern Grill. Admission is free to the public. Proceeds will benefit the Licking County Humane Society. Heath High School Class of 1993, 20-year reunion, July 26 and 27. Events include a casual gathering July 26, at Papa Boo's in Thornville, a golf outing July 27 at Raccoon International and a reunion dinner July 27, at the Newark Metropolitan Hotel. Cost for golf is $30 per person, cost for the reunion dinner is $25 per person. Reservations are due July 12. AARP Foundation Senior Community Service Employment Program assists unemployed Franklin, Delaware and Licking county workers age 55 and over with securing employment. The program offers paid work experience, specialized training, upgrading of skills and job-search assistance. Age, income and residency requirements apply. Newborn Basics Class, 6 to 8 p.m. June 25, in the first-floor conference rooms at Licking Memorial Hospital, 1320 W. Main St., Newark. The class prepares parents-to-be how to care for their babies through the months after birth. Topics include newborn care, infant growth and development, ways to interact with infants, and infant and child safety. Cost is $10 per family. To register, call 740-348-4346.

Community Education Program, Bed Bugs, 6 p.m. June 27, in the first-floor conference rooms at Licking Memorial Hospital, 1320 W. Main St., Newark. Jeanne Emmons, LMH infection prevention director, and Chad Brown, Licking County Health Department director of environmental health, will discuss bed bug prevention and treatment.
