Johnstown Area Seniors, meeting and program, 10 a.m. Nov. 11 at Church of the Ascension, 555 S. Main St., Johnstown. This is a non-denominational group for those 55 years of age or older. A social gathering with coffee starts the day, with a meeting at 10:30 a.m., a program at 11 a.m. and lunch at 11:30 a.m. A $5 one-time admission fee is charged, along with a $5 fee for each meeting that includes lunch. The next meeting will be Dec. 9.

Ohio Dominican University's Panther Players, performances of A.R. Gurney's Sylvia, at 7 p.m. Nov. 15 and 16, and 2 p.m. Nov. 10, in the Matesich Theatre, located in Erskine Hall on ODU's main campus, 1216 Sunbury Road. General admission is $8; children under 5 will be admitted free. Free parking is available in the Gold lot, located west of Sunbury Road.

AARP Foundation Senior Community Service Employment Program assists unemployed Franklin, Delaware and Licking county workers age 55 and over with securing employment. The program offers paid work experience, specialized training, upgrading of skills and job-search assistance. Age, income and residency requirements apply. Classes, workshops

Alzheimer's Support Group/Family Education Workshop, 6 to 7 p.m. Nov. 13 in the Community Room at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation, 75 McMillen Drive, Newark. The program, Activities to Encourage Engagement Over the Holidays, will be presented by Home Instead. Light refreshments will be offered. Free. Flu Vaccinations, 4:30 to 6 p.m. Nov. 12 at the Licking County Health Department, 675 Price Road, Newark, and 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Nov. 13 at the Newark City Hall Council Chambers, 40 W. Main St. Adults should bring insurance cards to the clinic. The department has a limited amount of vaccine for high-risk adults who are unable to pay. For those without coverage who are not high-risk, a $25 fee is due at the time of service. To schedule an appointment for a child in need of flu or other vaccinations, call 740-349-6535.

Childbirth Education Class, for expectant mothers, 6 to 9 p.m. Nov. 12 and 19 in the first-floor conference rooms at Licking Memorial Hospital, 1320 W. Main St., Newark. The cost is $55 per couple. A childbirth educator will discuss topics such as ways to cope with labor, postpartum care and newborn care. Advance registration is required, and class size is limited to 10 couples. Breastfeeding Mothers Support Group, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Nov. 12 in the auditorium at Licking Memorial Hospital, 1320 W. Main St., Newark. The group is facilitated by a board certified lactation consultant, who will answer questions and provide resources. To register or for more information, call 740-348-4346.

Prenatal Breastfeeding Basics Class, 6 to 8 p.m. Nov. 20 in the first-floor conference rooms at Licking Memorial Hospital, 1320 W. Main St., Newark. A certified lactation consultant will be available for one-on-one questions. Cost is $20 per family. To register call 740-348-4346.

Friends and Family Infant and Child CPR Class, for expectant parents and grandparents, 6 to 7 p.m. Nov. 22 in the first-floor conference rooms at Licking Memorial Hospital, 1320 W. Main St., Newark. Although this class does not provide official certification, it focuses on basic life support and treatment for children who are choking. Anyone in the community who looks after young children can register. Cost is $5 per person. To register call 740-348-4346.
