Licking Soil & Water, Farmland Preservation Landowner Information Meeting, 6:30 to 8 p.m. Jan. 8 at the Agricultural Services Center, 771 E. Main St., Newark. Licking Soil & Water will provide information on the Local Agricultural Easement Purchase Program, its requirements and deadlines. Ohio Ecological Food and Farm Association, 35th annual conference, Affirming Our Roots, Breaking New Ground, Feb. 14-16 at the Granville middle and high schools. The state's largest sustainable food and farm conference features keynote sessions with Kathleen Merrigan and Atina Diffley; more than 100 educational workshops; two in-depth pre-conference events; a trade show; and locally sourced and organic homemade meals.

AARP Foundation Senior Community Service Employment Program assists unemployed Franklin, Delaware and Licking county workers age 55 and over with securing employment. The program offers paid work experience, specialized training, upgrading of skills and job-search assistance. Age, income and residency requirements apply.
