Cow on the lam; driver asleep in fast-food drive-thru lane

Johnstown police recently responded to a myriad of strange incidents, ranging from a cow on the loose to an intoxicated driver who was found sleeping in a fast-food drive-thru lane.

A cow was running loose from A'MAYS'ing Meats, 80 E. Coshocton St., at 8:12 a.m. Dec. 27. The cow was found and caught at the rear of Circle K, according to reports.

A driver and front passenger had fallen asleep in the drive-thru line at McDonald's, 625 W. Coshocton St., at 3: 14 a.m. Dec. 27. They had an odor of alcohol and had red eyes, according to reports. The two were detained for their safety.

Johnstown police also assisted the Licking County Sheriff's Office with a person who was intoxicated and in a crawlspace, trying to saw off an ankle bracelet. The person was transported to Licking Memorial Hospital from Johnstown-Utica Road, outside the village limits, about 9:54 p.m. Dec. 30.

A man in the 400 block of Park Lane Drive reported a female ripped his shirt off and threw his stuff out of the house at 3:10 a.m. Dec. 29.

In other Johnstown police incident reports:

* A female reported she was hit in the face by a former boyfriend at the Kroger store, 800 W. Coshocton St., at 10:08 p.m. Dec. 29. He left eastbound on West Coshocton. No medical attention was needed, according to reports.

* A disturbance was reported in the 200 block of Sunset Drive at 5:07 p.m. Dec. 29. A father and son were arguing, according to reports. The Licking County Sheriff's Office called for assistance.

* Youths were going onto the porch of a South Oregon Street residence and scaring a little girl at midnight Dec. 27. Police checked the area and didn't see any juveniles. The resident said the juveniles were wearing shorts.

* A South Main Street woman reported receiving threatening text messages from a female again. She reported the harassing phone messages at 12:15 p.m. Dec. 27.

* A child was causing a disturbance at an upstairs apartment in the 40 block of Williams Street at 1:57 p.m. Dec. 26.

* A female allegedly entered a Briarwood apartment and caused a scene in front of a man's children at 11:22 a.m. Dec. 24. She also pushed him, according to reports.

* Jewelry was reported missing in the first block of Central Station Place at 7:09 p.m. Dec. 24.

* Illegal dumping of trash was reported at Wright Car Wash on West Coshocton Street at 10:16 a.m. Dec. 28.

* A motorist was told to leave after he was found sleeping in his car at Subway, 14 W. Williams St., at 4:14 a.m. Dec. 31.

* House keys were reported stolen by a relative in the 400 block of Park Lane Drive at 12:22 p.m. Dec. 30.

* An out-of-control customer tried to assault a man at the Versus, 854-856 W. Coshocton St., at 1:35 a.m. Dec. 29. The man was taken home by the bar owner, according to reports.

* A motorist pumped $58 and left without paying at Circle K, 8 N. Main St., at 10:02 a.m. Dec. 29.
