Students donate to county BDD

Students at Johnstown-Monroe High School recently donated $415 to the Licking County Board of Developmental Disabilities in honor of a 2-year-old with Down syndrome.

Senior Alyssa Triplett proposed that student council sponsor a "dress-down day" to acknowledge World Down Syndrome Awareness Day. Money raised during the event was donated to the local board in honor of Triplett's friend, Ellie Zak.

Ellie's mom, Andre, suggested that the resulting funds be donated to the LCBDD as a thank-you for the support the family receives from LCBDD Early Childhood Developmental Specialist Diane Dodson.
