Eight to compete for Little Miss Firecracker


Johnstown's Little Miss Firecracker pageant will be set in a Winter Wonderland, the theme of the show, scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 1, in the Performing Arts Center at Johnstown-Monroe High School.

Pageant director Joanne Schwab said guests would be entertained by 2013 Little Miss Firecracker Avery Radcliff and 2014 Miss Johnstown Brooklyn Warner in addition to the eight contestants.

The 2014 little "princesses," their ages and parents are: Madelyn Epling, 4, Lyndsey Nadolson and Gary Epling; Reese Lyons, 4, Jade and Matt Lyons; Kennedy Walters, 4, Ashley and Casey Walters; Nadia Wentzel, 4, Ashlea and Greg Wentzel; Addy Hazelbaker, 5, Kim and Jim Hazelbaker; Brittin Steffan, 5, Dana and Aaron Steffan; Aubrey Del Cecato, 6, Lisa and Jason Del Cecato; and Mia Steffan, 6, Dana and Aaron Steffan.

The contestants will be judged based on categories including talent, modeling and interviews.

Duties of Little Miss Firecracker include appearances in parades in Johnstown and other area communities.

Admission to Little Miss Firecracker is free, but donations will be accepted for the Johnstown-Northridge Community Food Pantry.

The 2014 master of ceremonies will be Cameron West.

Concessions and a bake sale will be offered during the pageant by the cheerleaders of Johnstown-Monroe High School and Adams Middle School.

The Little Miss Firecracker pageant is sponsored by American Legion Post 254 and the Fourth of July Committee.
