Johnstown: Vandalism reported around village square

Johnstown police recently responded to reports of vandalism around the village square.

A juvenile was reported punching the gutters on the historical society's building off West Coshocton Street at 2:41 p.m. Aug. 24. Several youths were there, but the individual who allegedly damaged the gutters was wearing no shirt, black shorts and a baseball cap with a red brim, according to reports.

The gazebo at Main and Coshocton streets was damaged, according to a criminal-damaging report received at 12:54 p.m. Aug. 23.

In other Johnstown police incident reports:

* A resident in the 200 block of Crestview Drive said her son punched a hole in the door of her home for the second time in a week, according to a report received at 12:11 p.m. Aug. 24. She asked officers to find him and speak to him about his behavior.

* Toddlers were reported playing naked in a yard on West College Street with no adult supervision, according to a report received at 9:26 a.m. Aug. 24. The caller said she had seen them in the road.

* The mirror of a truck was damaged in the first block of South Williams Street, according to a vandalism report received at 4:02 p.m. Aug. 22.

* A wallet and flip-flops were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 100 block of Sassafrass Place, according to a theft report received at 11:05 a.m. Aug. 22.

* Two reports were received regarding vehicle damage from a manhole cover at North Main and Edwards streets. One report was received at 4:19 p.m. Aug 22 regarding damage the cover had caused to a tire. A second report was received at 10:47 a.m. Aug. 22 after a motorist hit the open manhole, causing tire damage.

* The back window of a residence was shattered and items were taken in the 100 block of North Main Street, according to a petty-theft report received at 8:40 a.m. Aug. 22.

* A window was shattered at a residence in the first block of Glencliff Place, but nothing was stolen, according to a report received at 7:31 a.m. Aug. 22.

* Two boys on bikes were reported on West Jersey Street and were trying to break into vehicles, according to a suspicious-persons report received at 3:01 a.m. Aug. 22. The caller said the boys were wearing dark clothing and hoodies, and they had backpacks. He said they had been checking car doors.

* A purse was reported stolen from a vehicle, after the passenger side window was broken in the 100 block of Valleyview Drive. The theft report was received at 5:32 a.m. Aug. 22.

* Items were reported stolen from a vehicle in the first block of Stonehedge Row Drive at 5:55 a.m. Aug. 22.

* A watch was stolen from a vehicle after someone broke the driver-side window in the first block of North Main Street. The theft report was received at 6:42 a.m. Aug. 22.

* Items were reported stolen from a vehicle after a window was broken in the 200 block of North Main Street. The petty-theft report was received at 7:19 a.m. Aug. 22.

* Items were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 100 block of South Oregon Street, according to a report received at 7:21 a.m. Aug. 22.

* Items were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 200 block of North Main Street at 7:34 a.m. Aug. 22.
