Northridge forfeits opening win
The Northridge High School football team has forfeited its season-opening 27-0 victory over Dayton Jefferson Township for using an ineligible player.
The forfeit dropped the Vikings to 2-5 overall.
“We found out that we had a player who didn’t meet grade requirements to play, so we called the Ohio High School Athletic Association to report the error,” athletics director Wayne Howard said. “We want to make sure we run an honest program. We hated to forfeit that win, but it was the right thing to do.”
Northridge plays Friday, Oct. 12, at Centerburg.
