Weathervane Playhouse's will offer several new programs this summer, including "Student Rush @ the 'Vane," apprenticeship and internship programs for high school and college students and Young Artist workshops in singing, dancing and acting.

Included in the workshop offerings will be the debut of Weathervane Young Artists' Repertory Theatre, which will offer students the opportunity to perform in the production of the musical "Annie Jr."

Student Rush @ the Vane: Teachers may sign up students to receive a discounted $8 ticket to see opening-night performances. If at least five students sign up, teachers will receive a free season pass to all opening night performances. Participants are invited to a "talk back" after the show with Weathervane's artistic company.

Eligible dates are: June 12, "Noises Off;"

Thursday, June 26, "HONK!" July 10, "Midsummer Night's Dream;" July 24, "Thoroughly Modern Millie."

All shows start at 8 p.m.

Weathervane workshops include Acting, Vocal Intensive Workshop, Broadway Dance Workshop and Weathervane Young Artists' Repertory Program (WYART), which will present "Annie Jr." June 30-July 3, July 7-11 and July 14-18.

Apprentice programs: Possible assignments include the scenic department; the costume shop; lighting/electronics; properties; theatre administration/box office; house management; stage management; directing; and run crew.
