Heath High School junior guard Megan White was named to the Super 12 girls basketball team.

White, who was the Division III district Player of the Year and first-team all-state, came back from a knee injury to average 24.0 points during the regular season.

She picked up the pace in the postseason, scoring 33 points as the Bulldogs upset third-seeded Newark Catholic 55-39 in the second round Feb. 25 and a career-high 41 in a 68-54 win over fifth-seeded Marion Elgin in a district semifinal March 3.

"She's obviously meant the world to us," said coach Doug Griffin, whose team finished 16-8 and reached a district final for the first time since 2006. "At the beginning of the year, I think that might have been our problem, too. Some of the young kids were kind of in awe and just stood around and watched her. As the season wore on, I think they started to figure out they could help her. That made us better."

Pickerington Central's Emilee Harmon was named captain of the Super 12.

Making honorable mention were junior forward Kendra Blair of Newark Catholic and Licking Valley senior guard Karoline Wilson.
