Artwork and live music will be featured on Saturday, Aug. 1, during the annual Art Walk in downtown Newark.

Artwork and live music will be featured on Saturday, Aug. 1, during the annual Art Walk in downtown Newark.

Artists and their work will be found in many downtown shops during the free event, which will take place from 4 to 8 p.m.

Visitors may park free in The Works' parking lot, located along Canal Street between South First and South Second streets, one block south of Courthouse Square.

Abby Bachelor, 12, will play the harp in The Works Gallery.

The Works complex will have art on display in the following locations:

The Works Gallery at 55 S. First St. will feature 25 art quilts from around the world in a show titled "REUSE: Quilts Gone Green."

The Works Central Gallery at 50 S. Second St. will exhibit mixed media pieces by Lyn Logan-Grimes, glass art by Abby Rice and fiber art by Cindy Myers.

The Tickleberry Moon shop, inside The Works Central Gallery, will display jewelry by Cory Howard and collage by Judi Young.

Moving Arts Pilates, at 44 S. Second St., will feature ceramics by Wendy Barrie-Wilson, who also will demonstrate her pottery wheel in The Works art studio next door at 46 S. Second St.
