Ohio Wesleyan University professor Jim Krehbiel will discuss the regions of Colorado, New Mexico, Utah and Arizona in the Burton D. Morgan Center Lecture Hall, 150 Ridge Road. The program is free and open to the public.

The Dogwood Blossoms Chorus of Sweet Adelines International will transform to "the gals of Dogwood Holler" for the barbershop music and comedy show "From Blue Ridge to Broadway."

The chorus' 29th annual show will be staged at the Mount Vernon Memorial Theater at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 14.

Mount Vernon native Joel Riley of 610 WTVN-Radio will be master of ceremonies.

In addition to the Dogwood Holler gals, the Sweet Adelines quartet, Sidekicks, also will perform, along with Steve "Bo" Marietta and his mandolin and the quartet of chorus members, Nothin' Flat.

The chorus is directed by Donna Dudgeon.

Tickets are $10 in advance at First Knox National Bank's main office or Farley & Moore Antiques or from any chorus member.

Tickets at the door are $12 for adults and $8 for children 12 and under.

Activities at Zerger Hall Senior Center, 745 E. Main St., for November include the 13th annual Veterans Honors ceremony at 10:30 a.m. on Nov. 10.

Other activities at the center in November include:

Evening Karaoke from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Nov. 3.

The first Coffee Conversation will take place from 9 to 10 a.m., Nov. 4 with coffee, and cookies and area newspapers.

Table Talk has been moved to 11:30 a.m. Nov. 4 because of the Veterans Day holiday. Anne Marie Picard of the American Association of Retired Persons will speak and answer questions about the "Myths and Facts of Health Care Reform." Reservations are required. Lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m. and includes chili soup with cole slaw and gingerbread.

The public is invited, but those under 60 will be charged $6.50 for the meal per federal regulations.
