The Licking County Humane Society will present Pet-A-Palooza on Saturday, Sept. 4, in partnership with Tri County and the Granville Parks and Recreation Department. The event will take place rain or shine at Wildwood Park in Granville.

The Licking County Humane Society will present Pet-A-Palooza on Saturday, Sept. 4, in partnership with Tri County and the Granville Parks and Recreation Department. The event will take place rain or shine at Wildwood Park in Granville.

The 5K run/fun walk is open to participants of all ages. Friendly dogs on leashes are welcome as well. The entry fee is $30. Registration forms may be found and submitted online at www.premierraces.com, or forms may be submitted by mail after completing the form found at www.Ichspets.org. Registered race participants may pick up race packets before race day at Star Power Running, 1845 W. Main St., inside the Advantage Club in Newark.

Race-day registration will open at 7 a.m. The race will start at 8:30 a.m. The first 100 run/walk participants will receive technical racing shirts.

The top overall male and female finisher and the winners of age categories will receive awards.

The Pet-A-Palooza continues with a pet expo from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with food stands, vendor booths, demonstrations, services and activities geared to pets and owners. Dogs and cats from various rescue organizations will be available for adoption.
