The Licking County Computer Society will sponsor a recycling event from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 1 and 2.

The Licking County Computer Society will sponsor a recycling event from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 1 and 2.

The event will be held on the south side of Contour Forming, the site of the former Heisey Factory.

From Route 16 East, exit north on Cedar Street and follow the signs to the corner of Oakwood Avenue and Chester Street.

Acceptable items include computers, faxes, printers, monitors, ink cartridges, batteries and cell phones, working or non-working.

Televisions will not be accepted.

If parts can be recycled into working computers, the refurbished units will be donated to qualifying organizations and individuals. The Licking County Computer Society is a Microsoft registered refurbisher.

Cash donations are needed to help cover costs.

The second annual TWIG Pumpkinpalooza, benefiting the Memorial Tournament Neonatal Intensive Care Unity (NICU) at Nationwide Children's Hospital, will be held on Saturday, Oct. 2, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Lynd Fruit Farm in Pataskala.

Hosted by TWIG, a volunteer organization of hospital, those attending are invited to enjoy a day-long family autumn festival. TWIG Pumpkinpalooza features food, hayrides, a pumpkin patch, corn maze, games, crafts and raffles featuring several items. Admission is free, with tickets sold per activity and for food. New this year is a Big Kids' Fun Pass (ages 4-12 for $16; age 3-under for $11) that includes one Wagon Ride, one Barrel Train Ride, one entry through the Lil' Adventure Corn Maze, unlimited visits in the bounce houses and unlimited visits through the Wild West corn maze (accompanied by an adult).

An Adult Fun Pass is also available (13 and older for $15.
