Rock 'N Bowl 2011, which benefits the Center for Child and Family Advocacy at Nationwide Children's Hospital, will take place on Saturday, Feb. 5, at the Columbus Square Bowling Palace, 5707 Forest Hills Blvd.

"Winter in central Ohio is a great time for indoor activities," according to a press release announcing the event. "What better way to spend a cold, snowy day than bowling while supporting a good cause?"

The event is organized by the Development Board of Nationwide Children's Hospital and presented by the Columbus Bar Foundation in support of the child abuse treatment and prevention programs at the Center for Child and Family Advocacy at Nationwide Children's Hospital.

Bowlers don't have to be in a league to participate.

"Simply organize a team of five friends, family members or coworkers for two hours of friendly bowling competition," the announcement said.

Teams that raise a minimum of $500 will receive long-sleeve shirts and gift bags.

In addition, all teams are invited to attend the pre-bowling reception one hour before bowl-time to socialize with other teams and enjoy complimentary food and beverages.

Bowling sessions are from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.; 3 to 5 p.m.; and 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Check-in begins at noon, 2:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. for the first, second and third sessions.
