The 2011-12 season begins with the Civil War drama "Bridegroom of Blowing Rock," to be followed by "Nunsensations." After the holiday break, performances include "The Trouble with Cats" and a thriller, "Monique."

Also on tap is the comedy "The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)" and the musical "She Loves Me." The comedy "Messiah on the Frigidaire" and family-favorite "Willy Wonka Junior" will round out the season.

Full-season ticket holders can see one performance of each of the eight productions for the price of seven. New ticket packages this season are the Snow Bird, Music and Laughter and Pick Five packages.

The Licking County Players will host auditions Aug. 29 and 30 for an upcoming musical production of Dan Goggin's "Nunsensations."

Auditions will begin at 7 p.m. both nights and will be held at the theater, 131 W. Main St., in downtown Newark.

The show requires strong singers capable of solo singing and ensemble harmony. The ability to read music is preferred, but not essential.

All must have at least moderate dance skills. The role of Sister Mary Leo requires strong dance skills.

The cast consists of five women and one man. Those auditioning will learn various sections from the show to sing, and will learn dance combinations to demonstrate their skills. No prepared vocal piece is required.

Performance dates are Nov. 10-20.
