Pataskala launches electronic newsletter

The city of Pataskala has created an electronic newsletter that will be emailed twice a month to residents who request it.

City Administrator Timothy Boland said the city reviewed different ways of disseminating information and determined more people are receiving news electronically.

"The best way to reach individuals is by sending things in the mail," Boland said. "Nothing will replace that. We feel this (newsletter) is a great tool and we invite people to sign up for it."

Residents may sign up for the newsletter online at

Public Service Director BJ King will publish the newsletter every other week.

The first edition, released the first week of February, included the city's downtown market study, government meeting dates, information about road projects completed in 2012, dates for the opening of the Pataskala Municipal Pool and dates for youth soccer registration through the Pataskala Recreation Association.

King said each newsletter will contain links to websites on which residents can access more information about each topic.

The second newsletter was emailed Feb. 15.
