Drug-related incidents keep police busy
The Pataskala Division of Police stayed busy in mid-March investigating drug-related incidents.
Three people were arrested and charged with drug-related crimes after first being stopped in a traffic incident.
Police arrested a 19-year-old man for drug paraphernalia and drug abuse after his vehicle was stopped for a traffic violation at 10:59 p.m. March 16 on Applewood Drive, east of Township Road.
Two people were involved in the second incident, in which the driver was stopped for not having his headlights turned on at 12:01 a.m. March 17 on Broad Street at Township Road.
Police arrested a 19-year-old man for driving under the influence of alcohol and arrested an 18-year-old man for possession of drugs after police found marijuana in the car.
In another drug-related incident, police arrested three juveniles for possession of drugs at 7:49 p.m. March 14, on Broad Street at Liden Avenue.
Two 17-year-old boys were charged with possession of marijuana and a 17-year-old girl was charged with possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.
The incident happened two days after a resident in the 300 block of Oak Meadow Drive reported someone in the neighborhood for potentially using heroin. The incident was reported at 8 p.m. March 13.
Officers found a spoon, syringes and other items that could have been associated with a crime, but no one was arrested and no charges were filed in the incident.
Needles and a spoon also were found at 7:19 p.m. March 14 in the 100 block of Cypress Drive but no arrests were made and no charges filed in the incident.
