Licking County Genealogical Society, May meeting, 6 p.m. May 6, at the Licking County Administration Building, 20 S. Second St. Doors will be locked at 6:15 p.m., and there will be no admittance after that time. Licking County Recorder Bryan Long and his staff will present the program, "Research Land Records" -- Licking County Recorder's Office Road Trip. Attendees are requested to bring a cash donation which will go to the food pantry. Meetings are free and open to the public unless otherwise stated. Newark Garden Club, annual plant and bake sale, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 11, at the home of Carol Svatora, 1411 Sherwood Downs W., Newark. This is the club's major fund raising event for the year. The Newark Garden Club provides community services by the planting and maintenance of the gardens at the Licking County Public Library, the Sherwood Davidson House and Museum, Newark's City Hall and the Buckingham House. Newark Maennerchor, all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner, 5 to 7 p.m. the first Wednesday of each month, 195 W. Orchard St., Newark. Cost is $7, $4 for children ages 12 and younger. Call 740-323-1163.

Heath High School Class of 1993, 20-year reunion, July 26 and 27. Events include a casual gathering July 26, at Papa Boo's in Thornville, a golf outing July 27, at Raccoon International and a reunion dinner July 27, at the Newark Metropolitan Hotel. Cost for golf is $30 per person, cost for the reunion dinner is $25 per person. Reservations are due July 12. AARP Foundation Senior Community Service Employment Program assists unemployed Franklin, Delaware and Licking county workers age 55 and over with securing employment. The program offers paid work experience, specialized training, upgrading of skills and job-search assistance. Age, income and residency requirements apply. Classes, workshops

Carol Strawn Center, "Alzheimer's Disease and Related Dementias" Caregiver Education Class," 1 to 3 p.m. April 24, at the Newark Public Library, 101 W. Main St., Newark. Topics include the basics about Alzheimer's disease, vascular dementia, Parkinson's and Pick's disease and current treatments. The class is free for Licking County seniors ages 60 and older. Friends and Family Infant and Child CPR Class, geared toward expectant parents and grandparents, 6 to 7 p.m. April 26, in the first-floor conference rooms at Licking Memorial Hospital, 1320 W. Main St. in Newark. Although this class does not provide official certification, it focuses on basic life support and treatment for children who are choking. Anyone who cares for young children is welcome to register. The cost is $5 per person. To register, call 740-348-4346.

Newborn Basics, 6 to 8 p.m. April 30, in the first-floor conference rooms at Licking Memorial Hospital, 1320 W. Main St. in Newark. Topics covered include newborn care, infant growth and development, ways to interact with infants, and infant and child safety. Prenatal Breastfeeding Basics Class, 6 to 8 p.m. May 1, in the first-floor conference rooms at Licking Memorial Hospital, 1320 W. Main St. in Newark. Childbirth Education Class, for expectant mothers, 6 to 9 p.m. May 3 and 17, in the first-floor conference rooms at Licking Memorial Hospital, 1320 W. Main St. in Newark. The cost is $55 per couple. A childbirth educator will teach the class, focusing on ways to cope with labor, breathing exercises, postpartum care and newborn care. Support groups

Support group for parents of teens or adult children with bi-polar or borderline personality disorders, 6 to 7:30 p.m. on the second Sunday of each month at the Pickerington Senior Center, 150 Hereford Drive, Pickerington.
