Pataskala's new planning director, Eric Fischer, will start work June 10.
Fischer, the assistant development director for Powell, will replace Dianne Harris, who retired May 10.
"Mr. Fischer has extensive experience in planning, zoning and economic development from his eight years as an assistant director and development planner for the rapidly growing city of Powell," said Pataskala City Administrator Timothy Boland.
Fischer will earn $70,378, said Finance Director James Nicholson. The value of his benefits package was not immediately available.
Nicholson said the city received 52 applications for the position and interviewed eight candidates before choosing Fischer.
Harris was paid $79,211 in salary and an estimated $34,710 in benefits annually, Nicholson said.
