Police detonate alleged pipe bombs in Pataskala

The Licking County Sheriff's Office and the Columbus bomb squad were called to Pataskala on Thursday, May 23, after pipe bombs reportedly were found in the 6400 block of Watkins Road, according to WBNS-10TV.

Three pipe bombs were detonated by authorities about 12:15 p.m.

An owner of the property told 10TV News that her grandson was cleaning out a closet in one of the buildings on the property and found a bag of what he believed were pipe bombs shortly before 11 a.m.

Authorities said they were searching for the previous renters of the property.
