Part of a wall at Fox's Locks and Security on state Route 310 in Pataskala collapsed at 4 p.m. Monday, July 22.

Mike Fox, the business owner and a member of Pataskala City Council, said there was an issue with the foundation and a 20-foot section of wall collapsed after a heavy rain.

Fox estimated the damage at between $15,000 and $20,000 and said he would contact his insurance company for coverage.

He said he was meeting with an engineer July 23 and he was confident the building would not have to be torn down.

The Pataskala Division of Police received the call around 4 p.m. and third-shift officers stayed past the shift change the morning of July 23 to help direct traffic around the site, according to police reports.

Fox's Locks and Security is located on the northeast side of the railroad tracks along state Route 310, which is called Main Street in that area.
