The Licking County Coalition for Housing (LCCH) will receive $303,000 from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to serve 80 veterans' families in Licking and Knox counties.

The funds are provided through a U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) program that provides services to very low income veteran families.

LCCH is one of 13 new SSVF grantees in Ohio and among the first to be funded in the central Ohio area. The one-year grant is expected to begin Oct. 1.

LCCH will partner with the Licking County Veterans Service Center and the Knox County Veterans Services Office, as well as the Columbus VA, the Newark Community Based Outpatient Clinic and the Licking and Knox county departments of Job and Family Services.

The new SSVF program will work with Southeastern Ohio Legal Services and the State Veterans Program to address legal and employment issues faced by many veterans.

LCCH is a partner agency of the United Way of Licking County and a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization registered with the state of Ohio.
