Granville Historical Society, opening of its 2013-14 program season with a film that explores the life of Victoria Woodhull, 7:30 p.m. Sept. 23 at the Bryn Du Mansion, 537 Jones Road, Granville. Produced by Suzanne Condray, a professor in Denison University's department of communication, the film, with comments by Condray, will be shown at no charge. A controversial and outspoken woman on the subject of women's suffrage, Woodhull lived during the 1800s. Sept. 23 marks the 175th anniversary of her birth.

Joseph's Coat of Central Ohio, spaghetti dinner and silent auction, 5:30 to 8 p.m. Oct. 5 in the cafeteria at St. Pius X School, 1051 Waggoner Road in Reynoldsburg. Sponsored by the Mount Carmel Foundation, this event raises money to help Joseph's Coat and its mission of helping individuals and families in need by providing free clothing, furniture, and household items.
